Crock Pot Sloppy Joes
Sep 5, 2012
Sloppy Joes are one of those super easy meals every mom should have up her sleeve. The filling is quick to throw into the crock pot, and (at least at my house) the end results pleases everyone - which can't be said of many meals.
What You Need:
1 lb. ground beef, browned (you could use ground turkey, if you prefer)
2 celery stalks, sliced thin
1 sweet bell pepper, chopped
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 tablespoon A1 Sauce (I use a cheap store brand)
1/4 cup water
1/3 cup ketchup
hamburger buns
Crock pot
Spoon for stirring
How to Do It:
Toss all the ingredients in the crock pot and stir them together. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours. Serve on hamburger buns.
If you want to use this as a freezer crock pot meal, brown the beef, drain, and cool. Pour it into the freezer bag along with the other ingredients, seal, label, and freeze. The night before cooking, place the bag of ingredients in the refrigerator to thaw. The next morning, 4 to 6 hours before dinner, pour the ingredients into the crock pot.
