UPDATE ON OUR MOVE: Well, selling our house has been nothing if not interesting. As I've written previously, we had three offers on our house three days after listing it. We chose what appeared to be the best offer.

Last week, we thought we were within a week and a half of closing. I was packing up the last of our things, and we were looking for a place to park our tiny house motor home locally for a month or two. Come to find out, our local RV parks didn't want us! They said our coach (which is beautifully maintained) was too old. Say what?? Turns out, too many people have abandoned old RVs at RV parks, leaving the park owners to deal with hefty legal and disposal fees. So now they just ban all but the newer RVs and coaches. So as we were grappling with that, and as I was dreading moving into such a place with the kids (there would be no place for them to play outside), our house deal fell through.

Turns out, the buyer's agent didn't disclose that the buyer needed to sell her house in order to buy ours. So when the buyer's own house sale fell through, so did ours. Of course, if we'd known there were contingencies like this, we would have accepted a different offer. A little annoying, no? And certainly not something the Board of Realtors will like hearing about.

Anyway, our Realtor is so wonderful, she had another offer on our table the same day we finally got the original buyer to terminate the first contract. We're praying this one goes a bit more smoothly :)

* I'm about halfway through the book Farmacology and loving it! The author's style is friendly, interesting, and informative...and I'm learning a lot. Basically, the premise is "what can we learn about our health through farming," but you'll likely learn a ton here about ways you can feel healthier. The Kindle version is only $1.99!

  1. Oh wow. I see homes listed on realtracs all the time that say "Loan financing fell through! Back on the market!" Must be kind of common, but what a load of trouble! We have noticed a lot of trailer parks in our area that sell land now say "No trailers more than 3 years old." I hope you find somewhere to park!
