My DD asked to learn how to sew and my Grandma and my Mom began teaching her. She made yo-yos and did a lot of lose stitching on scraps. Then last summer when my Mom was visiting she picked up sewing again so when my Mom left I bought my DD her own sewing kit. She was sooo thrilled.

Now she creates all sorts of things... she makes little pillows, stuffed animals, purses for her dolls. She will sit down to watch TV and bring her sewing basket and begins creating. At night sometimes she will sew on her bed. I have a box full of old clothes and washed old pillow stuffing that she uses for her projects.

As a woman who never learned how to sew I am so happy that my DD has taken on the craft. :)

A few months ago, I surprised her with a book full of sewing projects (she can read above grade level). Although she was happily surprised she rather create her own projects. :) I am for sure downloading the Mary Frances sewing book, she will like that. :) thanks for sharing.Tereza Crumphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07051821102578257785noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-265772262233409826.post-48730137373040635282011-02-24T14:54:37.125-08:002011-02-24T14:54:37.125-08:00Oh I loved this post.
