Weekend Links

In which I share my favorite posts from this blog's Facebook page.

* You should pinch off onion seed pods. Add egg shells to a tomato's planting hole. Add sugar to the hole to make tomatoes sweeter. Is this and other common garden advice fact or fiction? Texas AgriLife has the answers!

* "Imagine growing spinach from seed to harvest in just five days. What about a full head of lettuce in 15 days. Impossible? For most of us, yes, but a new company is working with Operation Underground Railroad to feed the orphans and those that we rescue from slavery with food that not only grows quickly and easily, but contains more nutrients than food bought in stores or produced on farms."

* A great idea for showing kids how they can either build up or tear down our homes. (Another great illustration for your kids: How are you filling your day?)

* How we praise our children may make a huge difference!

* Proven health benefits of coconut oil.

* Although the media - including Christian media - barely mentions it, Christians are being persecuted all over the globe. Voice of the Martyrs does an excellent job aiding Christians where ISIS threatens them, smuggling in Bibles in nations where they are illegal, aiding families left behind by Christians who've been martyred, and more. Please consider giving to this great cause this Christmas. Even a few dollars helps!

* We live in difficult times, with no end in sight. But we know that it all ends well - very well. Listen to "I Hear the Bells on Christmas Day."
